Project Spotlight: Modern Cozy Cabin in Vail, Colorado

Recently, we had the pleasure of traveling to Vail, Colorado, to transform an entire home into a stunning modern cozy cabin. This year-long project allowed us to collaborate closely with our clients and contractors, ensuring every detail reflected their vision while maintaining a seamless design throughout the space.

Designing a Modern Cabin Vibe

From the outset, our goal was to create a warm and inviting atmosphere that blended modern aesthetics with cozy cabin charm. We designed all exterior elements to set the tone for the home, establishing a cohesive look that invited guests to step inside and experience the comfort within.

Interior Design Process

Inside, we meticulously replicated the modern cabin aesthetic throughout the entire home, encompassing the kitchen, loft, living room, three bedrooms, laundry room, bathrooms, powder room, and entryway. We crafted each element from the ground up, ensuring every detail was thoughtfully considered—from the initial layout to the selection of hard materials. Our design process encompassed creating custom furnishings, selecting artwork, designing drapery, and choosing accessories, all aimed at achieving a harmonious flow and cohesive style throughout the space.

Custom Elements and Install Day

A standout moment in this project was our dedicated install day, a two-day process where we brought in all our subcontractors to execute our vision. Before this, all custom lighting, wallpaper, plumbing fixtures, furniture, artwork, accessories, and more were delivered to a warehouse, where they underwent thorough inspection. On the two-day install, our team expertly managed the proper delivery, installation, and organization of these elements, incorporating a range of custom features that made the home truly one-of-a-kind. We introduced elegant wainscoting in the entryway and custom wood paneling along the staircase, enhancing the cabin's rustic charm. Our design team also installed sophisticated wallpaper in the powder room, laundry room, and all three bedrooms, adding depth and character to each space.

To further elevate the home's aesthetic, we upgraded all plumbing fixtures for a more tailored look and introduced bespoke drapery throughout the property. The installation of custom lighting fixtures helped to create an inviting ambiance, allowing each room to radiate its own unique warmth and charm.

A Year of Collaboration

This year-long journey was marked by collaboration and communication with our clients and contractor. We managed all purchasing, ensuring that every piece of furniture and fixture met our high standards of quality and design. The culmination of our efforts took place over two days of installation, where we meticulously placed each item to perfection.
